HVRHA's Third Annual Open House
Saturday, March 24, 2012 @ 10:00AM
Held at WinSum Ranch 1392 Route 32N Schuylerville, NY

=Come find out what ranch horse events are all about! Meet the HVRHA officers and BOD.
=Question and answer session, as well as explanation of how the classes work, the ARHA rulebook, demonstrations, etc...
=FREE help given to anyone who shows up, although it is a $30.00 arena fee to ride (to help with cattle costs).
=After the riding is done, we will have our 2011 Awards Banquet. Please bring a dish to pass, as it will be potluck style dinner.
=The awards portion and potluck will start at approximately 1:00PM.

Roping Clinic w/George Peters and Shawn Quinn
March 31, 2012 10AM-4PM
Held at WinSum Ranch in Schuylerville, NY
$45.00/person

=Learn the basics of ropes, handling, technique, etc...
=Morning is on foot (no horses), going over the parts of the rope, how to build a loop, etc.. then roping a dummy.
=Afternoon is on horseback, building on the skills you learned in the AM. You will rope a dummy, the Hot Heels and then track live cattle.
=Brush up on your roping skills, before the shows start this year!

HVRHA Ranch Horsemanship Clinic
Saturday, April 21, 2012 Clinic 1 8AM-Noon, Clinic 2 1PM-5PM
Held at WinSum Ranch in Schuylerville, NY

There are 2 separate clinics: Clinic 1 from 8am-12noon and the Clinic 2 from 1PM-5PM. Each will cover the same topics and will be limited to 12 riders per clinic.

$40 PP HVRHA Members

$50 PP non-members

Join the HVRHA the day of the clinic and still receive the discount

If you've ever wanted to ride and show your skills in a Ranch Horse show but felt intimidated, or unsure, this is your opportunity to see how it's done.

These are just some of the things our clinician Wendy Shaw Bink will cover in the 4 hour Clinic.

What to bring & what to wear to show your best
How to fill out the entry form
What each class involves
The best way to present you and your horse for a judge
How to learn and ride a pattern
How to work a cow for a judge
and much more

Each participant will take home a folder containing a synopsis of everything covered. This handout will be great checklist before you head out to your next show.

Attendees will learn how to participate in a Ranch Horse show from the time you pull into the parking lot until the final ribbon is given out.
